Security for Multimedia Traffic over IP -
Rosario Gennaro
(IBM, T.J. Watson Research Center)
The course will focus on Security for the distribution of data related to
multimedia applications. We will focus on two main problems: source
authentication and intellectual property protection.
We will survey recent results on the authentication of digital streams
and secure multicast. We will also survey fingerprinting and watermarking
technologies and their strengths and limitations.
Rosario Gennaro received the Laurea in Matematica from the University
of Catania in 1989 and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering
and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology
in 1993 and 1996 respectively. Since graduating from MIT he has been
a Research Staff Member of the Cryptography Group at the IBM T.J.Watson
Research Center. His research is focused on efficient and yet provably
secure cryptographic algorithms with particular attention to
Internet applications.
